The Contracts are Signed

After we chose the construction company and the external supervisor, we met with them at the location of the new reservoir to discuss the project. We also discussed and defined the responsibilities of the different actors involved (Caritas, Construction Company, Supervising Company, Municipality Zepce).

Fuad instructed everyone on what we expect from them and established the quality standard of Caritas Switzerland. We need to make sure from the beginning that the project is being implemented according to the highest quality standards, so that the benefits from the restored water supply system is long lasting and sustainable for the population of Balacici village.

After the meetings on site and in the village, everyone relocated to the municipality building in Zepce. The next steps were then discussed and coordinated with the municipality representative and the construction company signed the contract with Caritas.

The signing of the contracts was an important milestone for the project; it makes the progress feel ‘official’, which is a good feeling.

The construction will start almost immediately, so stay tuned for further updates!
